School Introduction
Founded in 1552, Shrewsbury School is one of the famous “Nine Public Schools” in the history of the United Kingdom, and also one of the alma maters of Charles Darwin, the outstanding biologist and founder of the theory of evolution, inheriting the essence of British education for a hundred years and starting the academic tradition.
The school is situated on the picturesque banks of the River Severn, across the river from the vibrant ancient town of Shrewsbury. It is conveniently located only about 1.5 hours drive from Manchester and Birmingham airports, and about 3 to 4 hours to London Heathrow.

The campus is a blend of classical architecture and modern buildings with first-class facilities. Not only do we have sports facilities such as playing fields, artificial turf, tennis courts, squash courts, futsal courts, an indoor gymnasium and a 25m 6-lane swimming pool, but we also have large IT classrooms, professional art studios and a theatre, which provide students with all-rounded space for learning and growth.
